1/4 cup honey, for the syrup
3 tablespoons water, for the syrup
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, for the syrup
12 chunks fresh pineapple
Soak 6 bamboo skewers in water for 20 minutes and prepare a medium-hot fire in the grill.
Cut the fruit into chunks (halve the strawberries) and thread onto the skewers, leaving a little room at either end so you can pick them up.
In a microwavable cup, heat the honey on high for 30 seconds (this makes the honey thinner). Stir in the water and cinnamon; brush the fruit liberally with this mixture.
Grill the skewers 2 to 3 minutes over indirect heat; flip the skewers and grill an additional 2 to 3 minutes, until the fruit is lightly browned but not charred. The fruit should start to soften but not get mushy.
