Kate Middleton's Royal Tour Wardrobe Cost HOW Much?
Kate Middleton pulled out all the style stops for this month's royal tour of India and Bhutan. Donning a dizzying array of embroidered gowns, breezy dresses and sports-friendly looks — 18 outfits from 40 different designer labels — it was the Duchess's most sartorially savvy tour ever.
But all that glamour doesn't come cheaply. According to E! News, Kate's royal tour wardrobe cost more than USD $50,000 total.
Her most expensive look? The stunning blue beaded Jenny Packham gown she wore to a lavish charity dinner with Bollywood stars at the Taj Palace Hotel; the dress reportedly cost $6,000. Her Amrapali Jewels blue lapis earrings had a price tag of $1,925.
Kate's archery outfit was also surprisingly pricey, due in part to her Kiki McDonough lavender amethyst pear and oval drop earrings ($5,500). The lilac skirt, which was hand-woven by Mrs. Kelzang Wang Mo of Bhutan, took more than three months to make — and then had to be taken to London to be tailored — for a cost of $1,500.
Not every ensemble was entirely unaffordable to the average shopper, however. Her least expensive outfit was a paisley Topshop dress which retails for just $140. Paired with Kate's go-to wedges and Accessorize earrings, the whole look came in at just $208.
